Three Sedalia firefighters received their pins at Monday night’s city council meeting, celebrating the completion of their training and probationary period.

The three firefighters—Adam Bazen, Tanner Crawford, and Trent Flake—were recognized at the beginning of the meeting. City Administrator Kelvin Shaw says he and the council enjoy the opportunity to congratulate the city’s newest firefighters.

During Monday’s meeting, Sedalia’s city council adopted ordinances authorizing the city to add Wood and Huston Bank as a depository, accepting a bid from W-K Chevrolet to purchase four pickup trucks for the water department totaling $174,424, and a contract with Broadfoot Engineering to survey and design a water main extension to the intersection of Routes 65 and HH. The council also approved one new liquor license and three renewals.
