The monthly opportunity for Saline County residents to dispose of their hazardous waste is this Wednesday.

The Saline County Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off Facility will open Wednesday morning by appointment only. Appointments are available from 8 a.m. to noon for residents to dispose of their unwanted chemicals and other hazardous materials. Acceptable drop off items include solvents, pesticides, pet sprays, rat and mouse poison, oil based paint, dips, pool chemicals, drain openers, insecticides, bleach, and glue. The center cannot accept latex-based paint or gasoline.

Saline County residents needing to schedule an appointment can do so by calling 660-886-3945. Hazardous waste drop-off opportunities are scheduled for the fourth Wednesday of each month between April and October.
