Fulton-based country and folk musician Forrest McCurren is scheduled to perform at the Marshall Public Library on Tuesday, July 2. The first performance will be at 10:00 a.m. followed by an evening encore at 6:00 p.m. Both performances are free and available to all Marshall residents.

After his debut album “Oh Me, Oh My” was released in 2022, McCurren and his wife Margaret performed nearly 200 shows around the Midwest from Indiana to Texas, including the Blue Note in Columbia. He plays guitar and she plays fiddle.

According to McCurren his songs are inspired by small-town Missouri life, engaging his audiences on a human level. He promises a “set of songs and stories about our sweet Show-Me State and The Heartland that will light up the room and leave folks smiling.”

After graduating from William Jewell College in 2013 with a degree in International Business and an impressive soccer-playing record, he became a community activator at Cornerstones of Care in Kansas City.

This summer library program is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provision of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
