The Glasgow School District Board of Education approved the budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year during its most recent meeting.

The board started by approving the final 2023-2024 budget before adopting the proposed budget for the next fiscal year, which begins on July 1, 2024. Superintendent Stacey Kottman says the board likes to keep a conservative proposed budget, just in case any unplanned expenses pop up throughout the year.

In other news, the board decided to update Policy 2610 to include artificial intelligence (AI). Policy 2610 is the district’s discipline policy. The board wanted to make sure the policy was updated to include rules preventing students from being academically dishonest with AI tools. Kottman added that the district wants to make sure all students use these tool properly and honestly.
