
The Kansas City Royals fell to the Colorado Rockies 4-2 after an eighth inning collapse on Friday, July 5.
The game was tied 2-2 going into the bottom of the eighth inning before the Rockies plated two on a double from Brenton Doyle. Jalen Beeks slammed the door in the ninth for the save.
The Rockies scored the go-ahead runs off of John Schreiber, who took the loss. Cole Ragans went seven strong innings, giving up two runs on five hits with eight strikeouts.
Salvador Perez and Garrett Hampson drove in both Kansas City runs.
The Royals fall to 48-42 on the season, currently third in the AL Central and eight games behind Cleveland for the division lead.
