
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported eight fatalities during the Independence Day holiday counting period from 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, through 11:59 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2024.
In total, troopers worked 382 traffic crashes, which included 159 injuries and eight fatalities. Troopers also made 147 DWI arrests.
Those numbers were down from 2023, where troopers reported 1,505 traffic crashes, 646 injuries, and 15 fatalities.
Troopers also worked ten boating crashes, which included seven injuries and zero fatalities in 2024.
