A Marshall man suffered serious injuries after his vehicle went off a state highway east of the city Thursday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that 35-year-old Lucas Scott was driving east on Route 240, when at around 6:30 p.m. his car left the right side of the roadway, crossed Ladder Drive, and overturned, coming to rest on its top. Scott was taken to a Columbia hospital. Troopers say that Scott was the only person in the vehicle.
