A Lexington man died after being involved in a two-vehicle, head-on collision on Interstate 70 outside Kansas City on Sunday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the accident around 8:30 in the westbound lanes of the interstate, about a half-mile west of Exit 24 in Grain Valley. Troopers say that 20-year-old Connor Souther was driving eastbound when his car went off the left side of the road, crossed the median and into the path of an SUV driven by 56-year-old Garret Brumley of Lee’s Summit. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Three passengers in the SUV suffered serious injuries, while a fourth received moderate injuries and a fifth reported minor injuries. They were all taken to a nearby hospital.
