E. Lucille Staton, 98, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away July 15, 2024, at the Big Bend Retreat in Slater, Missouri.

She was born December 17, 1925, in Carrollton, Missouri, daughter of Julius and Alma Scharfenberg Moeller. In 1945, she married Hubert Mix who passed away in 1954 and in 1958 she married Richard M. (Harpo) Staton who passed away in 2019.

Mrs. Staton attended the Lutheran School and graduated from the Carrollton High School in 1943. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Carrollton, Missouri. She worked as a bookkeeper and cashier for the Carroll County Trust Company Bank for over 50 years.

Lucille enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles and volunteered for the Carrollton Senior Center for many years.

Survivors include a grandson, Nathan Mix and Shanda Mix of Wheeling, Mo; a great-grandson, Issac Mix of Wheeling, Mo; three nephews and two nieces, Shelly Hufford and husband Ron, Lufkin, Texas and Cindy Brandt and husband Dan of Marshall, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, James E. Mix, and a brother Melvin Moeller.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Oak Hill Cemetery with the Pastor Samuel Aizenberg officiating.

The family suggests contributions to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Radio Fund or the Carrollton Public Library in memory of Lucille. Contributions may be left at or mailed to Bittiker Funeral Home, P.O. Box 223, Carrollton, Mo 64633.
