A strong May gave way to a lighter June for Saline County’s sales tax collections.

According to figures presented by Saline County Treasurer Jared Brewer at Wednesday’s commission meeting, Saline County collected $109,074.04 in sales tax revenue during June, $25,760.03 lower than May and down five percent year-over-year. Collections for the economic development and law enforcement taxes also totaled around $109,000 each.

Saline County’s use tax registered its first year-over-year decline in 14 months, as the county received $68,749.92 during June. That’s a decrease of $14,029.05 from May and a 34-percent drop from last June.

Year-to-date, Saline County’s sales tax collections are up by five percent, with use tax collections up 12 percent.
