A second attempt at seeking bids for construction of the proposed Saline County Welcome Center at the Marshall Junction is underway.

It’ll be a busy meeting for commissioners on August 14th, as they’ll start off with the annual tax rate hearing at 8:45. Gooden says the Commission will also review an order placing on the November ballot a proposed property tax credit for residents age 62 and older.

Several counties have already opted to allow their senior residents to apply for the credit.  Pettis County’s Commission agreed last week to give its senior residents the opportunity beginning in 2025.
