The Odessa Board of Aldermen approved a three-year contract for the city’s fireworks displays during its meeting on Monday, July 22.

The board voted to enter into the three-year contract with Premier Pyrotechnics Inc. for the displays in 2025, 2026, and 2027. City Administrator Shawna Davis also said that the city will hold the annual Independence Day fireworks displays on July 3 for the next three years.

In other news, Street Superintendent Darrin Lamb presented an update to the city’s 2024 Street Plan to the board during the meeting as well. Lamb highlighted which streets are chip sealed and which are paved. Davis said the 2024 street plan is partially funded due to the 2025 Downtown Infrastructure Plan.

The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 12.
