A ministry that aims to turn men away from lives weighed down by substance abuse could soon receive a portion of Sedalia’s share of opioid settlement funds.
Leaders from The Embassy made a presentation at the beginning of last week’s city council meeting. City administrator Kelvin Shaw says the presentation highlighted The Embassy’s mission of addressing the roots of their residents’ substance abuse.
Shaw says the $50,000 request will go toward improving The Embassy’s two facilities in Sedalia, which he says will also benefit the surrounding neighborhood.
Sedalia’s next city council meeting is set for August 5th.
