A half-dozen new faces are making their way to Slater Schools next month after their hires were approved by the Board of Education on Tuesday afternoon.

Slater Superintendent Dr Terry Lorenz has a rundown of the six hires approved by the board in closed session.

The board also approved the list of substitute teachers and accepted the resignations of Amy Moore and Stephanie Mullins.

Also at Tuesday’s meeting, the board reviewed bids received to supply the school’s bread, milk and fuel.

The board also approved a $0.10 increase in the price of lunch for this coming school year and set eligibility criteria for free and reduced-cost meals. Slater Schools also approved their conflict of interest policy for the next year and set the tax rate hearing for August 27th at 4:30, immediately prior to the next school board meeting.
