A Marshall man was arrested following a pursuit on Wednesday, July 24.

Police received a report from a citizen that their wallet was stolen from their vehicle on Friday, July 19. Police were provided a description of the suspect, and it was believed that Jeremiah T. Hayes had possession of the reporting party’s debit card and was using it.

Police went to Hayes’s residence on Wednesday, and made contact with him, when he allegedly fled on foot. Hayes reportedly entered his vehicle and drove away from his residence. Police pursued him until he left the city limits. Saline County Sheriff’s Deputies found and pursued Hayes outside of city limits until he drove back to his residence in Marshall, where police were waiting to arrest Hayes.

Hayes was arrested and transported to the Marshall Police Department.

Court documents say Hayes was charged with felonies for forgery, armed criminal action, assault in the second degree, and resisting arrest. Bond was set at $25,000 cash only.

An initial appearance was held on Thursday, July 25 at Saline County Circuit Court.
