
The Kansas City Royals defeated the Chicago Cubs 6-0 on Friday, July 26.
Brady Singer went seven strong innings, allowing two hits and two walks, while striking out five. Will Smith and Chris Stratton pitched the final two innings, securing the win.
The Royals did all their damage in the fifth inning. Adam Frazier and Vinnie Pasquantino drove in runs with RBI singles. Salvador Perez broke the game open with a three-run home run, his 19th of the year.
The Royals improve to 57-47, 5.5 games back of Cleveland in the AL Central.
