Two Tipton residents were taken to a Columbia hospital after losing control of their ATV on Saturday night on a roadway in southern Cooper County.

The accident occured around 10:45 on Tuttle Road, east of Sandbank Drive. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, an ATV driven by 45-year-old Grant Petree failed to negotiate a curve, went off the side of the roadway and overturned. Petree sustained serious injuries, while a 30-year-old passenger, Timothy Brink, suffered moderate injuries. Troopers say both men did not have safety gear on at the time of the accident.
