
A heat advisory has been issued in the KMMO listening area until 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 30.
The National Weather service says heat index values up to 109 degrees are expected. Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
The advisory is in effect in Saline, Pettis, Carroll, Chariton, Lafayette, Howard, Cooper, and Johnson County.
