Willie Agada provided another winning goal for Sporting Kansas City, as his goal in the 76th minute put the hosts past the Chicago Fire 2-1 on Sunday night at Children’s Mercy Park in the Leagues Cup.

The Nigerian forward connected on a pass into the box from Stephen Afrifa, heading his shot past keeper Spencer Richey to complete Sporting’s comeback effort. The goal was Agada’s 11th of the season across all competitions. The Fire registered the game’s first goal, with Georgios Koutsias putting the visitors in the lead in the 22nd minute. Sporting would equalize in the 39th minute with a goal from Robert Castellanos.

Sporting can assure themselves of a spot in the knockout stages with a win or draw against the Mexican side Toluca FC on August 5th.
