An officer with the Marshall Police Department was awarded a Lifesaving Award for his actions on Sunday, June 16.

On the day of the incident, a concerned citizen contacted Saline County E911 to report a fully engulfed structure fire at 340 East Eastwood Street. The Marshall Police Department, Saline County Ambulance District, and Marshall Fire Department were dispatched.

Upon Officer’s arrival, Officer Caleb Dunlap entered the residence to retrieve and notify residents of the structure fire and escorted them to safety.

Dunlap was awarded a Lifesaving Award for his immediate and positive actions that saved human lives in the line of duty.
