
Stacy H. Scott, 84, of Slater, died Monday, July 29, 2024 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Memorial services will be Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11 A.M. at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater, with Rev. Paul List officiating. Inurnment will be in Slater City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 until 11 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Big Bend Retreat in care of the funeral home.
Born February 18, 1940 in Keytesville, he was the son of the late Lester and Faye Barnes Scott. On June 15, 1973 in Moberly, he married Donna Browning, and she survives of the home.
Also surviving are seven children, Stacy Scott (Bev) of Overland Park, Kansas, Ken Scott of Walnut Shade, Missouri, Michele Whitaker (Kelly) of Holt’s Summit, Missouri, Karie Roark (Randy) of Lebanon, Missouri, Greg Young (Loretta) of Mendon, Missouri, Jeff Young (Debbie) of Raymore, Missouri, and Doug Young (Megan) of Keytesville, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Ashley, Christopher, Cole, Canon, Catherine, Michael, M’Lynn, Autumn, Kristin, Alyssa, Taylor, Adam, and Tyler; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Mr. Scott was a member of the Salisbury United Methodist Church, the Cambridge Masonic Lodge #63 A.F. & A.M., and 401 Couples Club. He worked as an engineer for the IC&G Railroad, retiring in 2004 from Amtrak Railroad after 30+ years of service. He was an avid University of Missouri fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, traveling, and socializing at the American Legion in Slater. He loved his family, and loved to say, “Isn’t this fun!
