The Saline County Commission has announced an extra week for firms to submit bids to build the proposed welcome center at the Marshall Junction.
During Wednesday morning’s session, commissioners announced that the deadline to submit bids is now Aug. 21st at 8:45 a.m. The commission will convene a special session that morning at 9 a.m. to open the bids. The previous attempt in May resulted in the commission rejecting all five bids submitted.
Also at this morning’s session, the commission signed off on the order of destruction for a bookshelf in the county’s inventory and granted a pair of temporary liquor licenses for vendors at Shopping Under the Sun this Saturday. Commissioners also agreed to a request from county clerk Brittni Burton and auditor Karlin Breshears for a special check run to pay poll workers following the Aug. 6th primary election.
