Summer’s Best Story will feature fewer events this month, as the Missouri State Fair Arena is out of commission for this year’s 11-day fair.
Fair director Jason Moore says it was a difficult decision to take the arena out of commission this year, one that will ultimately lead to the construction of a new, indoor arena.
Moore says the goal is to open the new arena in March 2026.
With the arena not available, events unable to take place at the Missouri State Fair this year include the rodeo, bull riding, demolition derby, motocross, and the antique, classic and garden tractor pulls. The Missouri State Fair runs Aug. 8-18 in Sedalia.
