The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works heard updates about several water and sewer projects during its meeting on Thursday, August 1.
Underground Facilities Director Grant Piper spoke about the water main replacement project on Boyd Street. Crews have reportedly installed all of the new main and 90 percent of the services have been transferred. Crews are now working to excavate and compact the area to pour ten inches of concrete. Piper said this project is expected to be completed before school starts on August 19.
The board also received an update on the sewer main project in the alley between West Marion and West North Street. Piper’s report said that crews have installed approximately 278 feet of main and have set the first manhole.
