St Louis City SC will host FC Juarez on Sunday night in their second Leagues Cup prelim contest, and they’ll do so without their co-captain.

The club announced Friday that they had traded defender Tim Parker and $600,000 in general allocation money to the New England Revolution, in exchange for defender Henry Kessler. Parker was picked by St Louis in the 2022 Expansion draft from Houston and tallied six goals in 53 appearances. Those goals included the club’s first in MLS play, their first in the playoffs, and first in a Champions League contest.

Kessler arrives in St Louis, having played in 104 games for New England, scoring four goals. He suited up twice for the U.S. Men’s National Team during their successful 2021 Gold Cup title campaign.

St Louis’ contest against Juarez kicks off at 8 p.m. at CITYPark. Both teams have already defeated FC Dallas, meaning both have already advanced to the knockout stage.

Meanwhile, Sporting Kansas City will host Toluca on Monday night at 8 p.m., with both teams also securing spots in the knockout stage following wins against Chicago.
