Two Norborne residents suffered injuries Monday morning after a collision with a dump truck outside Richmond.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that 72-year-old Hillis Wheeler was driving west on Route 210 at about 8:45 a.m. when he attempted to overtake a dump truck that was about to turn left onto Profitt Road. Troopers say Wheeler’s car struck the dump truck, causing moderate injuries to Wheeler and his passenger, 72-year-old Jacquelyn Hall. The two were taken to a Kansas City area hospital. The dump truck’s driver had no reported injuries.
