The Kansas City Current needed just 103 seconds to net their first goal in a 2-0 victory over the North Carolina Courage in the Summer Cup semifinals Tuesday night at CPKC Stadium.

Forward Temwa Chawinga attempted a shot in the penalty box less than a minute into the game, then teamed up with Debinha to overwhelm the Courage’s goalkeeper a minute later to put the Current up 1-0. The two paired up again for the Current’s goal in the 78th minute, when Debinha was well-positioned to turn Chawinga’s blocked shot in a goal for her.

The Current will face NJ/NY Gotham FC, who claimed a 1-0 victory over Angel City FC in the opening contest. The Current and Gotham will wait until October 25th to decide the Summer Cup championship at Toyota Field in San Antonio.
