
The Slater City Council approved a bid to complete work at the city’s water plant during its meeting on Tuesday, August 6.
It was reported that the water plant needed to have some valves replaced. City Administrator Gene Griffith says the council approved a bid from Smico Contracting Group LLC for the work.
The bid authorizes the city to spend up to $11,000 to fix the valves.
In other news, the council approved a picnic liquor license to Margaritas Mexican Cuisine for a demolition derby that will be held on Saturday, September 14, in the city limits. The council also approved an updated conflict of interest ordinance to submit to the Missouri Ethics Commission.
