
Carla Rene’ Frerking passed away peacefully in her home in Warrensburg, MO, Monday evening August 12, 2024, at the age of 56.
Carla was born to Kenneth and Carol (Vogelsmeier) Frerking on August 8, 1968, in Sweet Springs, MO, at the Community Hospital with her twin sister Kendra. She was baptized October 13, 1968, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia Missouri, and confirmed in the Lutheran faith April 4, 1982, at Holy Cross Lutheran in Emma, MO. Her baptism verse was John 3:16. Carla was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran all her life.
Carla attended Holy Cross Lutheran Grade School, Concordia Grade School and graduated from Concordia High School (Class of ’86).
Carla was the second born after her twin sister Kendra and weighed only 2 pounds and 12 ounces at birth. The twins spent another seven weeks in the hospital before coming home to Emma Missouri where she spent her early years growing up.
After graduating from high school Carla worked at Lafayette County Enterprises in Higginsville, Missouri at the sheltered workshop. She lived at her home in Warrensburg, Missouri under the care of many special women from Share and Care who loved Carla.
Carla enjoyed family vacations, going for a ride and going out to eat. She loved 80’s music and movies and had a Barbie Doll for every occasion along with many other dolls and stuffed animals. She had many furry friends that were special to her including Tigger, Miss Kitty and Sam, her pet cats.
Carla is survived her mother, Carol Frerking of Emma, MO; one sister, Kendra (William) Nolte of Chillicothe, MO; a niece and nephew; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Carla also leaves behind a family of care providers from Share and Care who lived with and enjoyed Carla’s company while taking care of her.
Carla was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Frerking; her grandparents, Lester and Alice Vogelsmeier and Walter and Erna Frerking; her uncle and aunt, Robert and Carol Frerking; and cousin, Jill Frerking-Gassen.
Carla’s Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2024, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma, with Pastor Alan Mueller officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday prior to the service. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Holy Cross Church Endowment Fund or Share & Care in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.
