The Concordia Board of Aldermen approved an ordinance to install a new phone system at Concordia City Hall during a special meeting Monday.
City Administrator Dale Klussman said there was a need to install a new phone system at City Hall due to outdated technology and other problems the system has experienced.
Klussman said the board approved an ordinance authorizing a contract with Verizon for the phones and system for about $840 annually.
In addition to updating the City Hall phone system, the board also heard a presentation from Toshiba Business Solutions to discuss the integration of a cloud-based document management software called Docuware. Klussman explained that the city was running out of space to retain and keep track of records and documents. After some discussion, the board authorized Klussman to draft an ordinance to execute an agreement with Toshiba Business Solutions for the software.
