A Fayette man suffered moderate injuries after losing control of his moped on a Howard County roadway Monday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the one-vehicle accident around 5:15 a.m. on Route 5 about four miles south of Fayette. According to the report, 28-year-old Joseph Super was driving south on the highway when about a quarter-mile south of County Road 423, the moped overturned, ejecting him. The vehicle left the right side of the road and came to rest in a ditch. Super was taken to a Columbia hospital. Troopers say that Super was not wearing the appropriate safety gear.
