odessa-2

Finding your way around Odessa may become easier after the city’s board of aldermen approved two measures Monday night.

The board approved an ordinance authorizing an agreement with the Missouri Department of Transportation for the installation of wayfinder signs around Odessa. City Administrator Shawna Davis says the Chamber of Commerce is paying for the signs through their betterment fund.

The wayfinder signs are expected to go up later this year, just as Odessa is continuing with a project to improve sidewalks around downtown. Davis says the board agreed to continue their agreement with NAVIGATE Building Solutions for the infrastructure project.

Also at Monday night’s meeting, aldermen reviewed a proposed ordinance defining a special event and setting guidelines that would allow the city administrator to issue a permit. The ordinance is still under consideration and is expected to come up again at Odessa’s next Board of Aldermen meeting August 26th.
