The Fayette Board of Aldermen approved three business licenses during its meeting on Tuesday, August 13.

The board was limited to what it could do because the city attorney was absent from the meeting. The board did approved business licenses for Triangle Electric LLC, Core Construction Services LLC, and CGE Enterprises LLC to open a new gym along the square.

Mayor Greg Stidham also spoke about the retirement of Fayette’s current City Clerk, Judy Thompson. Stidham said the city is currently interviewing candidates for the position.

Thompson is retiring at the end of August.
