
The Kansas City Royals salvaged game three of its series in Minnesota, defeated the Twins 4-1 on Wednesday, August 14.
Kansas City struck first with an RBI groundout from Kyle Isbel in the second. Bobby Witt Jr. added to the lead an inning later with a solo homer, his 24th of the season.
The Twins got on the board with a solo homer from Carlos Santana.
The Royals added some insurance runs with a homer from Paul DeJong and an RBI double from Vinnie Pasquantino.
Lucas Erceg got the save, getting the final four out of the game.
Cole Ragans gave the Royals a much needed quality start, going seven innings of one-run ball. He fanned eight in the outing.
Kansas City improves to 66-55, maintaining their position in the third wild card spot.
