A Holden man suffered moderate injuries after losing control of his vehicle on a Lafayette County roadway early Thursday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the one-vehicle accident around 12:10 a.m. on Route Z at Smokey Ridge Road, about four miles south of Bates City. According to the patrol, 35-year-old Austin Cantrell was driving his SUV northbound when he crossed the center line and went off the left side of the roadway, striking a culvert. Cantrell was taken to a Kansas City area hospital. Troopers say that Cantrell was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash and was wearing his seat belt.
