The Missouri Valley College women’s volleyball team has been recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association (AVCA) for its academic success during the 2023-24 season.

Missouri Valley has received the 2024 AVCA Team Academic Award for its excellence in the classroom during the 2023-24 academic year. The team was in the top 20 percent for programs Nationally, across all collegiate divisions, for its overall GPA. Missouri Valley was also recognized on the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll as on the top GPA’s in the country.

The women’s volleyball team finished the 2023-24 academic year with a 3.73 GPA. Twelve members of the team were recognized as Heart of America Athletic Conference Scholar Athletes and 13 members of the team were honored as NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athletes.

The AVCA award recognizes programs that reach a 3.3 GPA for the academic year.

The Missouri Valley women’s volleyball season opens this weekend with four matches at the Phoenix Classic in Lebanon, Tennessee. Today, the team plays Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) and Fisk (Tenn.), followed by matches against William Carey (Miss.) and Cumberland (Tenn.) tomorrow.
