Pens of New Zealand rabbits from Warrenton and Sheldon were the top winners of Wednesday’s market show at the Missouri State Fair.

Lain Gerdeman of Warrenton brought in the grand champion pen, winning the 4-H Division. His three white rabbits weighed an average of 5.27 pounds. Gerdeman is a member of the County Line 4-H Club.

Reserve Grand Champion honors went to Carissa Stong of Sheldon. Stong’s pen weighed an average of 4.4 pounds. She is a member of the Nevada FFA Chapter.

Gerdeman and Stong have the final two entries in this year’s Sale of Champions. The sale takes place Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in the Lowell Mohler Assembly Hall. We’ll have a livestream of the sale on our website, KMMO.com.
