The Glasgow Board of Aldermen has accepted a bid for relocating utilities along Route 5 in the north part of the city.

At Monday’s board meeting, aldermen agreed to the low bid of $167,400 from ACJ of Boonville, to relocate utilities to the other side of Route 5 at the bridge over Bear Creek. City administrator Robert Snider tells KMMO News that the relocation is in anticipation of the Missouri Department of Transportation’s project to replace the bridge next year. Snider says that once MoDOT approves the work, utility relocation will take about two to three weeks.

Aldermen also welcomed to the city staff a new clerk and deputy clerk. Tiaro Key was hired as the new city clerk, while Michelle Reed is the new deputy. Snyder said the city and the previous clerk parted ways last month.

In other business, Snider notes that several items are slated for the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting August 29th, including plans for a new subdivision in the northern part of Glasgow, and a commercial establishment looking to open in the city. If advanced by committee, the items will go before aldermen at their September board meeting.
