Missouri Valley College has announced its coaching staff for men’s wresting, with a national champion returning to the Vikings as the new head coach.
Beau Vest will take the helm of the program, leading a staff of six assistant coaches as the Vikings prepare for the upcoming season. Vest was the 1996 national champion at 118 points and was a key part of MoValley’s national titles in 1996 and 1997. He started the programs at Midland University in Nebraska and Cowley County Community College in Kansas. At Cowley, Vest coached the program to four top-15 finishes, including a National Champion and six All-Americans.
Three assistants are new to the program. Chase Zollman shifts into a coaching role fresh off his winning the NAIA national title at 149 pounds last season for the Vikings. Zollman had previously wrestled at the University of Wyoming, starting for three seasons at the Big 12 affiliate. Terrel Wilbourn arrives at MoValley from Kentucky, where he was the high school coach of the year in 2018. Wilbourn won three individual wrestling titles at then-NCAA Division Two Lindenwood after winning state titles at Francis Howell Central. Joshua Isaac also joins the staff after completing a career that saw him qualify for NAIA nationals five times, earning All-American honors three times. Aaron Negrette and Cody Carson are back for their third year as assistants, while Steve Weathers will begin his second year for the Vikings.
Missouri Valley’s season will begin Nov. 3 at the Dan Harris Open in Baldwin City, Kan.
