
The St. Louis Cardinals fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-6 on Friday, August 16.
The game went back in forth early, with both teams trading runs in the second inning. The Cardinals led 4-2 heading into the sixth inning, before Miles Mikolas ran into trouble.
The Dodgers scored five runs in the sixth inning, dealing most of the damage to Mikolas and Andrew Kittredge. St. Louis got two runs back in the bottom of the inning, but fell just short against the Dodger bullpen.
Mikolas allowed five runs over 5 2/3 innings of work, giving up seven hits and striking out seven.
Masyn Winn, Paul Goldschmidt, and Pedro Pages all homered in the losing effort.
The Cardinals have dropped five straight, and currently sit at 60-62. St. Louis is ten games back from Milwaukee in the NL Central, and four back from Atlanta in the third wildcard spot.
