The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a bird strike led to a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Route 65 that sent a Miami man to the hospital.

Troopers responded to the wreck east of Alder Avenue around 12:20, when a motorcycle driven by 38-year-old Jack Geeslin hit a bird. Geeslin lost control and crossed the center line, hitting an eastbound car driven by 36-year-old Harley Collette of Maysville. Geeslin’s motorcycle then went off the south side of the roadway and overturned, while Colette was able to stop his car on the roadway. Geeslin suffered moderate injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital, while Colette had no reported injuries.
