A Lexington man is among two fishermen that escaped a sinking boat without injury Saturday afternoon at Truman Lake.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 36-year-old James Hutcherson was fishing with a Bates City resident, 36-year-old Brandon Barker, in a 20-foot boat when the two realized the boat was starting to take on water. Barker beached the boat on the south shoreline about a mile from the Sparrowfoot boat ramp south of Clinton. Both men left the vessel before it submerged. Both men had no reported injuries and were taken back to the boat ramp.
