The City of Fayette continues to consider two sets of changes to the city’s historic preservation ordinances.

Mayor Greg Stidham says the proposed amendments to Chapters 405 and 415 of Fayette’s City Code aim to provide as many options as possible to keep historic buildings standing before they face demolition.

Stidham adds that aldermen are seeking more input on the proposals before voting on them.

Aldermen discussed the ordinance at their board meeting in Fayette on Aug. 13th. A public hearing on the amendments took place last month.
