First-term Congressman Mark Alford continues his Town Hall Tour on Wednesday, criss-crossing the corn fields and cattle pastures that are prevalent in the Fourth District.
Alford is Missouri’s lone member on an agriculture committee in Congress, and he tells KMMO News the Farm Bill passed by his house committee in May maintains many programs crucial to farmers.
Alford says he and other Republicans on the committee will push for House passage of the bill next month. As for the bill’s fate in the Senate, Alford says it’ll depend on how Americans vote in November.
Congressman Alford’s Town Hall Tour continues Wednesday with stops in Preston, Bolivar, Stockton and Lamar. He’s scheduled to visit Nevada, Butler and Harrisonville on Thursday.
