The Saline County Commission unveiled the five bids received from area construction firms wishing to build the planned welcome center at the Marshall Junction.
Commissioners announced each of the bids during a special session Wednesday morning, with the low base bid submitted by Septagon Construction of Sedalia for $1,435,000. Bids were also submitted by Dax Staffing of Sunrise Beach, McCollester Construction of Sedalia, Reasback Construction of Warrensburg, and Westport Construction of Clinton. Each bidder also provided alternate bids for six additional elements in and around the 2300 square foot building, including additional landscaping, a family bathroom, and dumpster enclosure.
The commission voted to take the bids under advisement and will review them with project architects WSKF. The next regularly scheduled session is set for August 28th.
