A Holden teenager suffered moderate injuries after a one-vehicle crash in Johnson County on Wednesday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 16-year-old was driving north on Route O just outside of the Magnolia community when just after 6 p.m., she swerved her pickup to avoid hitting an animal. The vehicle crossed the center line, causing the unnamed driver to overcorrect and run off the right side of the roadway, then cross the highway and strike a pole. The pickup came to rest on its top. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
