A key roadway through western Randolph County has reopened after nearly three-and-a-half years.
The Missouri Department of Transportation announced Wednesday the completion of a project to rebuild Route 3 near a quarry south of Clifton Hill, after the roadway was deemed unsafe to travel on, following heavy rains and a landslide in March 2021. The rebuilt roadway is about 10 to 15 feet lower in elevation and about 15 to 30 feet west of the previous alignment. Emery Sapp and Sons began work on the project in February, at a contracted cost of $2,670,937.
