Sedalia’s city council voted Monday night to amend city codes, allowing the establishment of a historic sign park within the city.
At their most recent meeting, the council agreed to make the changes to ensure that Impact Signs could set up a display of old signs at their new location in the Thompson Meadows Industrial Park. City administrator Kelvin Shaw says the city took a liberal interpretation of city ordinances when approving their initial plans.
Shaw says the changes adopted Monday encourage the development of historic sign parks.
Also at Monday’s meeting, the Sedalia City Council agreed to amend their grant agreement with the State Historic Preservation Office to allow more time for the completion of a survey of a neighborhood west of downtown. The council also approved allocating funds to repair a landscaping wall on West Main Street that a vehicle had run into, and a water main extension to the future location of Peterbilt’s facility around Routes 65 and HH.
