Two late goals doomed 24th-ranked Missouri Valley Vikings women’s soccer to a 2-0 defeat Wednesday afternoon at St Ambrose in Davenport, Iowa.

The game was scoreless at half, with goalkeeper Marina Barbara Bujalance making the first of her three saves in the first two minutes of the contest. The Vikings had three shots on goal saved in the second half, and had a slight 13-12 edge in shot attempts. However, Missouri Valley couldn’t maintain the clean sheet as the Bees’ Kendall Wendt and Taylor DeSplinter netted their goals in the final ten minutes of the contest.

Missouri Valley starts the season 0-1, with a trip to 12th-ranked Columbia College awaiting the Vikings on Saturday afternoon.
