The Marceline City Council decided to move forward and set up a pool dome at the City Pool during a special session on Tuesday, August 27.

City Manager Jesse Wallis said the pool dome was going to go up this year, with the help of donations from citizens. Wallis says the council is hoping to develop a plan for the future of the City Pool and the dome.

The council also approved a natural gas agreement for the pool with BlueMark Energy. Wallis says the city will see about $32,000 in savings with this agreement.

Wallis said the pool dome is scheduled to go up in October. The city is also looking for a new Pool Manager after the resignation of Gary Birdsong.
